Amanda Flipper A.M.E. Ministries:
The ministries of Amanda Flipper A.M.E. Church endeavor to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We seek to evangelize and minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed. In this manner, we seek to carry out the spirit of the original Free African Society out of which the A.M.E. Church evolved.
Our ministries are an extension of the Mission and Purpose of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and reflects the character and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to be compassionate as we reach out to a lost and hurting world that needs truth and salvation. Through the leadership of the Holy Spirit, our mission is to provide guidance towards God through the visible evidence of God's presence in the community and the world.
Our ministries seek to restore, refresh, and renew, in spite of failures or faults. We seek to give hope where there is hopelessness, help to those who feel helpless, and to instill the peace that only God can give. The following words of Jesus recorded in Luke 4:18-19 describe the type of ministry we offer to all whom the Lord brings to our church.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are downtrodden, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."
